Most patients know almost nothing about periodontal disease, and because of its relatively painless and slow progression, they are often shocked to know of its presence in their mouth. Models and photos of actual periodontitis cases are used to show disease progression and various treatment options for periodontal disease. Patients will also hear the consequences of allowing the progression of the disease without treatment.
